The FIFA World Cup Logo

The Logo of the Footbal World Cup 2006

 It could be seen virtually anywhere in 2006: the logo of the Football World Cup 2006 in Germany. It seems colourful and cheerful, because it's supposed to convey what football is all about: fun, emotions and happiness.

These emotions are depicted by ababstracted faces (similar to smileys).

The logo also had to include an element of the 2002 logo (World Cup in Korea) - namely the abstracted cup. Furthermore, it should be quickly and clearly recognizable that Germany would be the scene of the World Cup.

The London-based "Whitestone" Agency, which had also designed the World Cup logo for Korea met these and more demands and, in collaboration with the agency "abold", developed the 2006 logo.
