The Coca-Cola logo is very old and emerged in a funny way.

In 1886, pharmacist Dr. John S. Pemberton concocted a caramel-coloured fluid in a kettle in his backyard in Atlanta, which was supposed to become a remedy for headaches, weakness and fatigue.

Back then, alcohol was prohibited in Atlanta, Georgia - this fact aided the new soft drink and sales figures quickly rose. A suitable name and logo became necessary. Frank M. Robinson took care of that, and derived the product name from the ingredients used: Coca leaves and Kola nuts (Cola) added up to Coca-Cola, which was written in a swung accounting font. This is how simply one of today's biggest companies came into being.

By now, the Coca-Cola logo is one of the most famous logos alltogether. It is available in the most various countries and variations (hebrew, indonesian, ...). The logo's main characteristic traits were adopted in all versions for recognizability.
