You can also create a little spatial depth in two-dimensional logos. This may be achieved by adding a shadow, by creating a relief with logo elements, or by using colour gradients and shadings.

With all these things, you should bear in mind if it is also wanted. These effects might make the logo unsuitable for certain printing methods, e.g. the logo may only be printable using four-color process printing, which results in remarkable additional costs. Another side effect is that the vector format file is changed into a file with raster image format.

Three-dimensional logos can just as well be implemented using "real" 3D-applications. These programs offer far more options for design. However, the above-mentioned problems might also arise here.

Three-dimenstional logos are very popular in the building industry.
