Group 2: Garalde:

The fonts in this group date from french fonts of the 16th century. In Garalde, the majuscules are often lower than the ascenders of the minuscules. For example, the crossbar of the minuscule "e" is horizontal, as opposed to Old-Style Antiqua.

The serifs of Garalde are slightly swept. Beaks and ears of the minuscule characters are oblique.

Italic type styles are more narrow than the corresponding base styles. In italic type styles, the minuscule's stems are flat, while beaks and ears are rounded.
