Some symbols make it necessary to have cultural knowledge in order to correctly describe and interpret a logo. If you don’t have this knowledge, the logo might be easily misinterpreted and thereby loses its proper statement.

For example: In our culture, the sheep symbolizes Jesus Christ (the lamb of God). In other countries, there are no sheep and therefore there is no such phrase. Instead, other animals such as a goose are used for such an allegory.

In Far Eastern logos, there are frequently religious symbols used that Europeans usually don't recognize.

In industrial countries, a triangle with the tip pointing downwards is i.a. associated with danger or danger warning signs. Aborigines in the Australian bush won't be able to understand this association.
