Not assignable to other Antiqua groups, often Majuscule fonts for decorative, monumental purposes.

 

Group 7: Antiqua Variants:

This group contains all the antiqua typefaces that can not be assigned to groups 1-6, 8 or 9, because their characteristics differ from the aforementioned groups.

Antiqua Variants are mostly monumental fonts that not well suited (or not suitable at all) for body text. They are often exclusively useable for headlines etc.

The core of Antiqua Variants is made up by majuscule fonts, mostly for decorative purposes, or as an eye-catcher in advertising.

This group also includes Art Nouveau Fonts, which are very popular among antique dealers.
