The little images on the PC? - Yes and no.

The term "icon" is certainly well-known among many computer users. They're the little images that are commonly used instead of written commands.

Everybody knows the small simbols for "Open File", "Save File", "Print", "Search" etc.

Another meaning of "icon" is the description of religious paintings depicting holy beings or saints. This is because the basic definition of icon is "image".
